Residential Housing Fee Deferment Program

The purpose of the Residential Deferred Development Impact Fee Program is to provide an incentives to new residential development by deferring payment of development impact fees to reduce the upfront cost of those developments within the City of Solvang.

Eligible Projects

Any new single-family, multi-family residential developments that are subject to the development impact fees.

What Impact Fees may be deferred?

  • Roadway Impact Fee
  • Drainage Impact Fee
  • Sewer Connection Fee
  • Water Connection fee

What Impact Fees Cannot be deferred and must be collected at time of Issuance?

  • 1. Solvang School District Fee
  • 2. Santa Ynez Valley Union High School District Fee
  • 3. All review and building permit issuance fees

When will fees be Due?

  • Request for Issuance of Temporary Certificate of Occupancy; or
  • Request for Issuance of a Final Certificate of Occupancy; or
  • Request for Final Inspection; or
  • Sale or transfer of the property for which the building permit subject to this application was issued
